California Table Grapes Promoted Worldwide
During the 2006-2007 season (through December), 20.8 million 19-pound boxes of grapes valued at more than $309 million were sent to offshore markets and Mexico. Approximately 30 percent of the state's fresh grapes are exported each year.
Demand for fresh California grapes continues to grow in most export markets. New markets have opened every year and shipments increased in many regions of the world. The top ten export countries for 2006 were: Mexico, China, Malaysia, Central America, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, India, and the United Kingdom/Ireland.
Since 1997, exports of fresh California grapes to offshore markets and Mexico have increased by 49 percent.

California's fresh grape industry receives funding from the United States Department of Agriculture for international marketing. Matching funds are provided by the California Table Grape Commission. For more information about the USDA and the Foreign Agricultural Service, click here.
